Fixes

  • Reinstated fix: Fixed an issue when upgrading from a Copernic version prior to Version 8 when deleted docs files are present in the index folder. This was preventing the index upgrade and Copernic startup.

Changes and improvements

  • Temporarily removes the “Index in Priority” files option that causes the indexing to freezes in in certain circumstances.
  • A message has been added at the application startup if a corruption is detected in the current index preventing migration to the index structure of CDS 8. The user now has the choice to close the application or starting it by deleting the old index.
  • Remove all pending sources from the indexing queue after deactivation of a plugin from the Extension / Licenses menu to speed up the index refresh.
  • A progression message has been added when clearing the index to avoid saving the options at the same time.
  • The “Indexing done” message has been re-enabled to visualize the indexing process when documents are scanned but not indexed (Ex: deleted or moved emails).
  • Improved PDF extractor.
  • Max document count on result tabs is now 99 999 instead of 999.

  • Fixed a problem in the new index requiring the usage of the .NET Framework 4.7.1+. The minimal required version of .NET Framework is now 4.6.2.

  • Small redesign of the user interface of Copernic Desktop Search and Copernic Server Search in order to harmonize the colors.
  • ***Major update of the index. Creating a new index is NOT required, but an upgrade of the index files is required the first time you start the application. The indexing and search format will be preserved, but reindexing may be necessary in order to take advantage of the new indexing and search improvements (See points with the mention [Requires re-indexing]). ***
  • New display option that indicate the indexing progress by displaying the percentage of elements remaining to be processed.
  • New ‘Indexing error’ sorting option in all results lists allowing to display the indexing problems of indexed items if they are in error.
