Easily Search ZIP Files Without Extracting: A Step-by-Step Guide

When you are looking for specific information, weeding through your zip files can take additional time as you extract the information on top of seeking the correct file.

Copernic allows you to preview the content of a zip file before you open it, saving valuable time in the process!

In our example, you believe the information you need is in a zip file called 2021. By searching 2021, 1,508 files are found. That is a lot of searching!

By refining your search a bit, you can narrow your results to a manageable number. In the File Type Refinement dropdown, type .zip and your search will result in 28 documents, much easier to locate the content you need!

By selecting the file you believe is the correct one, the preview pane will display the contents of that file. Once you determine it is the correct one, you can extract what you need.
