Why is my installation stuck on “Configuring Email Sources?”
Copernic Desktop Search might not be able to index a mailbox who has been added to your Microsoft Exchange account if the cached mode has been activated.
Cached Exchange Mode is a feature in Microsoft Outlook that allows users to use their Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox even when they are not connected to the internet or when the networ connection is slow.
Outlook creates a local copy of the mailbox data, stored in an Offline Storage Table (OST) file on the user’ computer. This allows for quick access to emails, calendar items, contacts, and other mailbox data without needing a constant connection to the server when this feature is enabled.
Here are the steps if you want to disable the option “Use Cached Exchange Mode:”
- Open Outlook Account Settings.
- Outlook 2007 -> Tools -> Account Settings…
- Outlook 2010 and more recent -> File tab -> Account Settings -> Account Settings…
- Select your Microsoft Exchange account.
- Click the “Change” button to display the “Change Account” Window.
- Click the “More Settings” button to display the “Microsoft Exchange” window.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Disable the option “Use Cached Exchange Mode”.
- Click the Apply button.
- Click Next in the “Change Account” window then Finish.
- Click Close in the “Account Settings” window.
- Close completely Outlook. Then restart it.
- Restart Copernic Desktop Search
