Copernic software update

Copernic September 2024 Updates

You may have noticed our update has been completed and our latest version is now available. If you haven’t done so already, you may update your version by following the prompts in the software (HelpCheck for Software Update).  You may read about our latest features and improvements on the website.

The “Creation Date” Refinement is one of the features of the latest version. Let’s take a closer look at this attribute! This Refinement is located in the “Files” section on the dashboard of the software.

“But what’s the difference between “Date” and “Creation Date?” you’re probably asking yourself. It’s a subtle but important difference. “Date” uses the last modified date if available, otherwise it’s the creation date. “Creation Date” is always the file creation date. In other words, if you are seeking a file and using a particular search word, you may use either “Date” or “Creation Date” to refine your results, depending on the file you need and whether it is older and has been modified frequently, or if it’s newer and has only just been created.

In our example today, we are looking for a particular quote. Using just the search word “quote” will return over 1,000 results. Both “Date” and “Creation Date” have drop down menus where you are able to select your preferred window time. We knew the date we created the file we wanted so entered it as the Creation Date. This narrowed our results field to one, the correct, file.
