How to Track Down That One File You Forgot to Name Properly

We’ve all been there, we’re rushing to finish a document, rush while saving, and then can’t find it again when needed. Today, we are looking for an assignment given in our English class. It’s due today and we finished it last week. Using the file name we thought we had used resulted in no results. Variations of the name also met with no document found.

A search for the word “English” and the date Refinement for last week also bore no results.

Luckily, we have Copernic. We remember that we used the word “yesterday” in the document. We use “yesterday” as our search word and find the document in a matter of seconds! A simple typo could have wasted hours of time if we had had to recreate the document.

Using a word or phrase from the desired document can help you narrow your search results and help you avoid digging through multiple similarly named documents.
